FRED Mourns the Loss of Everette Kneece
April 1, 2013 - The FRED family mourns the loss of our founder, Mr. Everette Kneece, of South Carolina. We honor him for his vision and commitment to rural communities. He will be forever missed and fondly remembered. Thank you, Everette, for everything you have done for FRED.

Our 2013 Programs are open to communities in the service area of small, independent telecommunications companies (former OPASTCO members). For more information on 2014 programs, please check back in September for eligibility.

Scholarship Program
In May 2013, FRED awarded $75,000 in scholarships to group of outstanding rural students.  A total of 53 students were selected to receive scholarships ranging from $1,000 - $5,000.  Students hail from Alaska to New York and represent rural communities in 25 states. Click here for Details
